The hustle and bustle of the holiday season, along with all of those sweets, can wreak havoc on our routines. But we’ve resolved to help our clients achieve healthy skin in 2023. Follow these facial skin care tips to look better, feel younger, and let your authentic self shine through.
Tip #1: See an Experienced Aesthetician
Start the year off right by booking an appointment with an aesthetician to determine your skin type, and skin condition, and recommend a custom skincare routine. [image 2]
Tip #2: Use Professional/Medical Grade Skin Care Products
Use professional/medical-grade skin care products recommended to you by your aesthetician for healthier and more radiant skin. They may have better ingredients and are also more effective.
Tip #3: Hands Off!
Ice-inflamed acne breakouts, don’t pick. Grab an ice cube and rub down your face. This will help with inflammation and swelling. Keep ice moving, do not hold in one spot to avoid burns.
Tip #4: Take Care of Your Overall Health
Make exercise, sleep, and good nutrition priorities. Limit or find a good outlet for stress that works for you. A healthy body promotes healthy skin.
Tip # 5: Exfoliate Responsibly
Exfoliate 1-3 times per week. Do not overdo it! Ask your aesthetician for product recommendations. Some techniques you might see on the internet can do more harm than good.
Tip #6: Stay Hydrated
Hydration is a must for all skin types both topically and internally! Even oily and acne-prone skin needs regular moisturizing. Talk to your aesthetician to find out what’s best for you.
Tip #7: Don’t Let Travel Dry You Out
Bump up your hydration both topically and internally when traveling especially to higher, dryer elevations and during any airplane travel. We love the Face Reality Hydracalm Mask!
Tip #8: Have a Nightly Skin Care Routine
Never to go bed without facial cleansing as a bare minimum, Double cleanse with an oil cleanser first if you’re wearing makeup. Having clean skin while you sleep promotes cell regeneration.
Tip #9: Protect Your Skin from the Sun
Applying sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher is important every day, especially here in Florida. But it’s also important even when you’re indoors most of the day or in overcast weather. The sun’s UV rays can easily damage your skin. Make applying sunscreen part of your morning skincare routine.
Tip #10: Listen to the Pros, Not the Celebrities
Don’t be fooled by influencers/celebrities dishing out skin care advice. They are usually looking for likes, clicks, or followers, or they’re trying to sell something. They are trying to reach a broad audience, while we offer customized skin care treatments because we can see and touch your skin before suggesting a treatment or product.
