Laser hair removal is permanent reduction of hair growth, not a permanent removal. Anyone who advertises permanent laser hair removal is lying to you. There are currently no devices that can guarantee permanent removal as every person is different and different things can come into play such as hormones, medications, etc.
The laser targets the hair follicles with beams of laser energy. The follicles absorb the energy and convert it to heat, which disables individual hair follicles from future growth. Results are based on the individual; however, you should see a noticeable reduction in body hair in the area treated within the first treatment. You will most likely need touch-up laser hair removal for the rest of your life, but the goal is to be able to space treatments further and further apart.
How Long Does Laser Hair Removal Last?
A laser hair removal appointment can last from 10 minutes to an hour, depending on the area being treated, how much hair you have, hair type and color, skin tone, and more. Once a hair follicle is damaged by the laser, it will generally not produce new, healthy hair. But hair follicles are one of the few things in the human body that can naturally regenerate, so you might notice a small amount of hair regrowth. Any hair will be thinner and smoother.
The location of the treatment can also affect the longevity of your results. Speak with your aesthetician for details.
How Many Hair Removal Treatments Will I Need?
Everyone is different, but the vast majority of our clients have a 79% reduction in hair with just 3 treatments. Since hair removal treatments only target hair that’s in the active phase of growth, you will need multiple treatments for permanent reduction.
Speak to your aesthetician for a consultation to discuss treatment areas and the number of treatments required. A one-on-one consultation is the best way to get specific answers tailored to your goals. The color of your hair, skin tone, and the amount of hair you have to begin with are also factors in the number of treatments you will need for optimal results.

How Often Do I Schedule These Hair Removal Treatments?
For a series of hair removal treatments targeting one area, you will want to plan ahead. We generally schedule the first 6 treatments one month apart. Then we move into “maintenance” appointments, which can be up to a year apart after multiple treatments, depending on your individual circumstances.
Talk to your aesthetician about if you can schedule appointments more frequently if you are targeting two or more separate areas.
How Do I Make My Laser Hair Removal Most Effective?
You can set yourself up for success by preparing for your laser hair removal appointments. Your aesthetician will go over a list of things you should and should not do up to 2 weeks before an appointment. They will also discuss appropriate aftercare to help you achieve the best results.
