In contrast, the laser uses selective photothermolysis (SPTL). This precisely targeted light matches specific wavelengths of light and pulse duration to the melanin in your hair follicle. For your safety, the laser energy is focused and absorbed only into the hair follicle and does not target the surrounding skin. Therefore, the laser is a safer, more precise, and more effective hair removal technique than IPL for people with all skin types.
